With a population of 1178, Lexington is located in Lee county, and is a 45-minute drive from Austin. Lexington
has a historical agricultural base, with  Alcoa,
an aluminum manufacturing plant, its largest major employer. Many residents of Lexington commute to Austin. There
are over 20 local and community churches in northern Lee county. Lexington has 41 businesses located in the trade
area, two financial institutions, and an active Chamber of Commerce. There are five volunteer fire departments
located in and near Lexington. Lexington also has an active EMS unit, and 911 service, and a rural health clinic.
Currently, the only lodging facilities located in Lexington are a few Bed & Breakfast businesses and an
overnight camping facility. You can view them on the Local Businesses web page.

Woodson Community Center
The Woodson Community Center is mainly used for Lexington City Council and Chamber of Commerce meetings,
however, the building is often used for other events as needed.
Lexington Log Cabins & Heritage Center
The Lexington Log Cabins & Heritage Center is located in the center of town, and contains two circa 1850 log
cabins furnished with pioneer furnishings and exhibits. Also a corncrib which stores 19th century tools and
implements. Group tours by appointment are hosted by costumed docents with demonstrations of pioneer crafts. Hours:
Thursday-Saturday 9am to 4pm. Phone: 979-773-2194. Cost: Donations Accepted.
Lexington Memorial Park
There are several amenities available in Lexington Memorial Park - A new jogging/walking path, playground equipment,
basketball court, volleyball court, restrooms, picnic tables, handicapped parking, small barbeque cookers and a
covered pavilion.
