2010 Baking Contest Winners | 2009 Baking Contest Winners

The Lexington Chamber of Commerce invites you to Lexington, Texas for its eighth annual Chocolate Lovers Festival which will be held Downtown on the Square on Saturday, Oct. 15. The theme of the day will be – Chocolate in all its forms.

This year marks some new additions, with a greater variety of arts & crafts vendors, and the Mobile Dairy classroom. Demonstrations and information about how we get our milk, plus kids can have a go at milking a cow. Experts from the Southwest Dairy Association will be on hand at the mobile dairy parlor, on the Square, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. during the festival. As usual, we are looking for the area's best bakers. Kids and adults are invited to enter their Best Chocolate Cake and/or Best Chocolate Dessert. Have your entry in by 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15. Texas Chefs Association will be doing the judging. Separate prizes for Youth (13-and-under) and adults (14-and-over).

Kids 10-13 and 14-18 are invited to complete in the chocolate-themed Fear Factor contest. Just like the TV Reality show, this one involves competing in teams, overcoming physical challenges and eating bugs (chocolate-covered, of course!). Fear Factor teams must register by 2 p.m. on Saturday the 16th; contest starts as soon as the Baking Contest winners awards (usually between 3 and 3:30 p.m.)

No admission fee for the Chocolate Lovers Festival. Small charges for Chocolate Alley, where you can sample and purchase a variety of chocolate goodies; kids games (Plinko, Slip & Slide, Bounce House), and other activities.
